Harrison Community Youth Volleyball Program Information

The Community Volleyball Program will be different this year, as we hope to grow the sport and build its interest in the Harrison area.   The Harrison Community Volleyball Program will be joining a league with Ross and Lakota – the MRAA.   There will be three teams from the Harrison area participating in the league, grades 3rd – 6th, boys are welcome.  Teams will be based on ability in order to help our young players grow and challenge them with appropriate levels of practice and competition.   These teams will be Passers (beginners), and two Peppers (intermediate).  Next season we will add a Spikers (advanced) team.    Practices will be held Monday and Wednesday nights from 6 pm to 8 pm beginning August.   The size of each team will vary based on the number of players who sign up.  Matches will be Wednesday or Thursday nights beginning in September.    There will be officials at each match.  The first practice will be an evaluation practice, which will be used to properly place each player on the appropriate team.   Each player will be responsible to pay $80 to play on the team.  Checks should be made out to the Harrison Athletic Boosters.  Each team will play between 10 to 12 matches.

Most importantly we are looking for three coaches – one for each team.   Coach Philip Deak, Harrison Varsity Coach will be holding a coaching seminar for all the coaches to highlight specific fundamentals and give out several drill options.  Please contact Coach if you are interested or have any questions.
